During the week, you’re either eating breakfast (if it’s before noon) or lunch (if it’s noon or later).
But once the weekend rolls around, the rules change and you can officially refer to your midday meal as brunch if you’re eating between the hours of 11:00 AM and 4 PM.
Who doesn’t love a good brunch sesh? It puts you in a good mood, makes you satisfied with yourself and your girl squad, as well as sweep away any worries of the week.
So if you’re planning to have one with your girl friends, let’s take a look at the best brunch spots in 2020:
1. Urban Daybreak
Our new favourite so far in 2020! We’ve been here a couple of times and really like their healthy breakfast selections — No frills, just a simple, hearty meal.
Even the decor is simplistic and rustic. Adding to that, their good and attentive service staffs also make dining here really enjoyable. You can even ask them to take photos, and they’ll try their best to find your good angle 😉

2. Lisette’s Café and Bakery’s
Lisette’s Café and Bakery’s Sunday brunch is a fresh, quaint and oh so aesthetically pleasing place to enjoy good food, coffee and company.
They also offer the most amazing brunch venue in KL that we’ve seen! Plus, the vibe is just so lovely to enjoy brunch, thanks to the gorgeous garden decor and ceiling and wall art.

3. Proof Pizza
If you’re looking for a cafe with a simpler aesthethic, then this is for you. The open concept kitchen shows off the wood fired oven, which allows you to watch your pizzas being prepared on the spot. Mini entertainment before your food gets to you.
And Oh. My. God — look at the size of those truffles!

4. One Half x ilaika
From sitting area to the atmosphere and coffee to the cakes, everything is perfectly designed to lighten someone’s mood and make you feel really cosy. Kudos to the interior designer!
Seats are pretty limited though, so do expect a crowd when you visit, especially during the weekend. We recommend for you to browse the next door shop, Ilaika while you wait.

Locations: 17, Jalan 20/13, Taman Paramount, 46300 Petaling Jaya
5. Luckin Kopi
Astonishing discovery in Chinatown KL which offers a mix of fusion and traditional Malaysian and Western food, suitable for main meals and snacks in between.
Best feature is the restoration works that transform an old shop lot into a modern space while retaining much of the old charm, which will definitely make your photo sesh a fun experience!

6. Milligram Cafe
Half the time, brunch is really morning dessert in disguise. While the interior is pretty simple, as you can see from the pictures above, the plating decoration is certainly not.
It’s a comfy place to hang out with friends, and parking is easy to find too!

A small cozy cafe with two dining areas, in which you can head to the first floor if you prefer the bigger dining area.
Their croissant is tasty and special, but it will be better if the portion is bigger and if they have more options.

8. Pokok KL
Pokok is very aesthetically-pleasing, where there’s a lot of green on the outside, with water running on the glass ceiling.
Make sure you make a reservation if you’re more a group of more than 5, or you’d have to be on the waiting list before sitting down. Regardless, this is well-managed and the system works quite well.

Location: MAHSA Avenue, Block B, Jalan Elmu, off, Jalan Universiti, KL
9. Daun KL
This is Pokok KL’s little sister, Daun. How cute! We can’t get enough of the lemony poppy seed cake and creme brule cheesecake, which are perfect dessert lovers like us.
MAHSA students love to come here for the airy seating area and decor — Very comfy and inviting. However, this place is not suitable for those who are planning to work on your laptop here as the tables are pretty small.

10. The Soybean Factory
Perhaps one of the most aesthetiy pleasing cafes we’ve ever bean(been) to. Absolutely love the simple yet spacious place. What’s more, the desserts are good as well.
The soybean shaved ice taste authentic and not too sweet, while their signature soybean drink has a distinct flavour which is worth a try. Would definitely recommend!

Locations: 41, Jalan Petaling, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur
