Instant ramen noodle is a staple in any Asian households, especially for college students who can’t find the time to cook. It consists of fried, dehydrated noodles and a flavour packet, and that’s pretty much it — but it’s just so addictive!
Here are some ways to hack instant ramen noodles to make it a more exciting and filling meal.
1. Add peanut butter
Having noodles with peanut butter is apparently popular in Thailand. Add a dollop of peanut butter to your ramen, the noodles will be coated with creamy and nutty sauce. Trust us, you’ll ask yourself why you haven’t been doing this for years.
2. Replace water with milk
In order to reduce the spice and add some creamy flavour, adding a glass of milk could help. This will make some people cringe but it can actually bring up the flavour and lower the sodium content at the same time!
3. Add cheese
You can use cheddar, mozarella or even cream cheese, depending on your preference. The trick is to boil your noodles for at least thirty seconds before putting cheese in it. Your broth will be thicker and the entire dish will taste a lot more “expensive”!
4. Add egg to it
The best way is just to beat one or two eggs in a small bowl, and as you’re boiling the noodles, drip it over the top of your noodles. Leave it on for just a while and you’ll have beautiful ribbons of scrambled egg in your broth!
5. Sprinkle some soy sauce
A teaspoon of soy sauce will make your broth a little more salty, and while it will make you more thirsty, it sure adds more flavour.
