Korean Girls Are Using Soju & Lemon As Face Toner And It’s Actually Really Good For Skin

Soju is an alcoholic drink from Korea that we all know and love. It has become a favourite for Malaysians too and the best part is, you can even purchase it online ~~

It comes in a variety of flavours, including Peach, Blueberry, Mango and many more. In fact, this drink is so versatile that people love to mix it all sorts of thing such as yakult and even Nescafe.

However, the most surprisng combination we’ve come across is Soju + Lemon, where you can use it as facial toner instead of drinking it.

We know it’s weird, but a lot of Korean women swear by this technique, because it has been proven to help brighten, tighten and soften skin!

1 cup Korean or Japanese soju (Pick the one with least amount of ingredients, especially sugar)

1 cup glycerin (You can get it from

Juice of 1 lemon

Cotton pads

1 zip lock plastic bag / glass jar

Step by step guide

1. Mix the soju, glycerin and lemon juice together in the zip lock bag

2. Add the cotton pads and make sure all are soaked in the toner (Itā€™s easier to add a few at a time)

3. Squeeze out any air, seal, place in the fridge for 1 month.

4. In one month the tonerā€™s ready to use.

Does it work?

We thought the alcohol would be too much, however, the glycerin cancels out any tightness the alcohol might give.

Since soju is a humectant, it keeps skin hydrated, helps with skin renewal and can help fight acne.

Fun fact

HumectantsĀ can come fromĀ naturalĀ sources, like glycerin, honey, aloe vera gel or liquid, sorbitol (derived from sugar cane), lactic acid, as well as hydrolyzed wheat, baobab, and rice proteins.
