Just the thought of dipping the artfully sliced meat into the piping hot soup until they are cooked to perfection, savouring the flavourful ingredients (while burning your tongue after an overly eager gulp – but it’s worth the pain) and most importantly, enjoying the communal sense of reunion and togetherness as you cook and eat from a round pot is enough to make your mouth water and stomach growl. Be it with friends or family, or even by yourself (there are more and more restaurants that now cater for personal hotpots too, so you can satisfy your sudden cravings without the hassle of gathering a crowd), hotpot is definitely a must in this weather.
